Bath & West Show cancelled

It has been announced that this year’s Bath & West Show will not take place due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The show dates had already been moved from May to early August, but the show society said it had become clear that the impact on mass gatherings would not have abated sufficiently by then to allow the event to go ahead.
Rupert Cox, chief executive of the Royal Bath & West Society said: “We are hugely disappointed to be taking this decision, and to have to cancel one of the largest events in Somerset is a great shame. We hope that our visitors, traders and exhibitors will understand that we have a civic responsibility to act sensibly and in line with government advice.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to next year’s show from 3 to 5 June 2021 when we will throw a wonderful party in celebration of great British farming and rural life.

Comment: A sensible decision especially as most of us Farmers are of an older generation.
