NFU Supports Farm Safety First Campaign

The campaign aims to recruit Farm Safety First Ambassadors to talk to friends, neighbours or the wider farming community about health and safety on farm. NFU Mutual are particularly interested in hearing from people who have been personally touched by the consequences of a farm accident. This could either be yourself if you have been injured, relatives and friends of loved ones, employers or colleagues. If you have a story that needs to be told about accidents on farms, then NFU Mutual would like to hear from you.

The campaign is just one example of the work being undertaken by members of the Farm Safety Partnership to improve the accident record for the industry.

The NFU meets with our members regularly to discuss the importance of on-farm safety and we produce a number of safety related briefings and business guides to help farms consider the risks from their activities. Our farm safety pages have a number of leaflets to help you tackle specific risks they can be found here.

The NFU is committed to helping to reducing the number of accidents on farm and believe that a good safety record is proof of a professional, modern industry.
