Work Experience Guidance - Revised

Now that the new school year is well underway it won’t be long before attention starts to turn toward work experience and the process of organising placements.

Placement organisers will find a section for them which lays out dos and don’ts to help remove duplication of tasks the employer is responsible for and reduce the need for excessive paperwork.

For the employer, there’s advice on the considerations they should be making and further information to explain the specific factors that are relevant to young people.

There is also advice for parents/carers and for the student themselves.  Both groups have a contribution to make.

Investing time now, by familiarising yourself with the guidance, will save wasting time on unnecessary paperwork.

You can find the work experience guidance on the HSE website: www.hse.gov.uk/youngpeople/workexperience/index.htm
