The tragic accident involving biker Alan Horrocks and farm manager David Woodcock in September 2014 highlights the need for drivers of tractors and other farm vehicles to be constantly aware of other road users and the risks that large agricultural vehicles can present.
Members are urged to
- Only drive vehicles for which you have competency to do so
- ensure that at all times you appreciate the risk that farm vehicles can potentially present
- only pull over when it is safe and reasonable to do so and in a lay bay or other parking space which can fully accommodate the vehicle
- Ensure that vehicles are adequately light and be mindful of changing conditions
