IT Support Technician

Stoneleigh, Warwickshire (Currently piloting hybrid working) 


The NFU has joined the governments Kickstart programme and are providing an exciting 6-month placement for 16–24-year-olds in receipt of universal credit to gain valuable work experience. The NFU will support you to develop transferable skills that are aimed at increasing their chances of sustained employment.


About the role


In this exciting placement, you will provide first line technical support to the organisation. 


You will provide IT assistance across all aspects of the business. The role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 environment along with general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software including reprographic system. 


The role provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities and part of the role will be to monitor, assign, update and action helpdesk tickets.


Main responsibilities include:-


  • Monitor the service desk for incidents and take ownership and resolve issues raised appropriate to the role
  • Providing technical assistance for questions and problems
  • Resolving problems with networks and other computer systems or escalating them appropriately
  • Diagnosing system errors and other issues
  • Following up with users to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Installing or changing software to fix issues
  • Remotely accessing hardware or software for users to make changes and fix problems
  • Assist in setting up physical desks and computer equipment
  • Moving equipment as and when necessary
  • Printer and multifunctional device management and support
  • Manage requests for standard services such as new PC’s, moves and changes
  • Video conferencing system support


This is a great opportunity to gain valuable skills & knowledge with no requirement of prior experience as full on the job training will be provided along with ongoing support throughout the placement.
