2020 guidance on cross compliance

What you need to know?

Are there any changes to the rules?

The RPA states there are no confirmed changes to the cross compliance rules in 2020, but we recommend you read all the webpages to refresh themselves of the rules.

What period do these rules apply for?

The rules set out in this guidance apply for the whole of 2020. Therefore, members must meet the rules throughout the year.

Who do these rules apply to?

They apply to any English BPS or agri-environmental schemes such as:

  • Countryside Stewardship
  • ELS / HLS
  • Woodland Management Grant, or
  • Farm Woodland Premium elements of the English Woodland Grant Scheme agreements that started on or after 1 January 2007.

What about Brexit?

The EU regulations will continue to apply directly in the UK until we exit the EU, or until the end of any implementation period. After this time, the EU regulations will be brought into UK law by the European Union (withdrawal) Act 2018.

Finally, please note that the guidance is not in the usual PDF document format, but webpage (html) format, meaning members will need to save, or print, each section of the guidance individually.
