It has developed an online survey for land managers to complete in order to explore the impact of the changing frequence and extremity in weather events. The survey directly looks at issues such as the need/difficulty to adhere to prescriptions within the current compliance and operational regime and the ability of agri-environment scheme options to deliver the desired environmental outcomes in the face of such events.
Natural England will use the results of the survey to inform the development of its future Environmental Land Management scheme (ELMs) to ensure the impacts of climate change and unpredictable extreme weather events are recognised.
