Revision of the BREF - opportunity to comment

The ‘BREF’ is the European guidance document for the IPPAracauana chickenC pig and poultry sectors. It outlines Best Available Techniques (BAT), or best practice, covering a range of activities on farm which must be transferred into guidance (e.g. How to Comply) in England and Wales and enforced by the Environment Agency (or Natural Resources Wales). The BREF was last updated in 2003 and is now being revised.

The industry has until the 21st October to comment on the key proposals of the revised BREF. This is our final opportunity to provide technical input before approval at an EU level.

This consultation briefing, which can be found in the related documents folder above right, outlines the key points for your views and comment. Please return any views or comments by 23 September to YW5uYS5zaW1wc29uQG5mdS5vcmcudWs=

A copy of the full BREF can be downloaded by clicking here.
