The DEFRA/Environment Agency Joint Flood and Coastal Risk Management research programme is funding a project to develop a Natural Flood Management design guide which will address design, construction, maintenance and repair for a selected range of NFM measures. This would most likely include:

  • for each measure a range of different design options to suite a wide range of watercourse types
  • case studies, design cross-sections and artists impressions to bring the guide to life
  • descriptions of structural integrity of different design options per measure
  • information on whole life-costs and longevity of measures
  • comparative analysis of pros and cons of different design options per measure

To help develop the scope for this project, the Environment Agency is asking for the survey to be completed by 30th June 2018.
