The NFU's senior BPS adviser, Richard Wordsworth, provides a useful reminder on considerations around wet weather.

He writes:

I don’t need to tell you that it has been wet this autumn, a contrast to recent years. Clearly, concerns on many arable farms now centre around harvesting remaining 2019 crops and the establishment of 2020 harvest crops. It hasn’t been an easy period since early summer either. Here are a few things that will hopefully help you in the coming weeks, a combination of reminders and things I would suggest following up on.

RPA advice

Following the developing situation on flooding earlier this year, and after discussion with the RPA, it produced a very useful guide on a range of issues covering BPS, Countryside Stewardship, Environmental Stewardship, woodland grant schemes and wider issues such as cross compliance.
