During July the Prime Minister appointed six business leaders as part of business-led taskforce on EU regulation to help identify where action is most needed to roll back EU red tape.
The Taskforce issued a called for evidence asking for examples on European rules and regulations which create unnecessary barriers to competitiveness. They decided to focus in particular on regulations pertaining to employment, chemicals, the digital economy and life sciences. The taskforce is due to report soon and will aim to set out concrete proposals for reform to European rules, regulations and practices that have the most impact on British businesses. Further information on the taskforce members can be found on Gov.UK
The NFU responded to the call for evidence and highlighted regulations in each of the specific areas the taskforce is focussing on.
