All elements of the negotiations were discussed but very little progress was made regarding the agricultural chapter. In fact, agriculture did not make the subject of discussions regarding market access, which revolved mainly around services.
With regard to regulatory discussions, the negotiators reiterated the importance of having ambitious chapters on technical barriers to trade (TBT) and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) that go beyond the existing WTO standards.
