Energy Storage can contribute to both security of supply and keeping costs low for energy users, as well as growing the low-carbon economy, by helping to balance the grid and enabling more renewables to be deployed.

The Energy Storage Summit is an annual two-day conference which returns to London at the end of February, taking place at the Victoria Park Plaza hotel (close to Victoria Station).  NFU Chief Renewable Energy Adviser Dr Jonathan Scurlock will be speaking on "The Emerging Rural Market for Energy Storage".  Other conference themes to be explored include:

  • Case Studies: hear from the most successful commercial projects, both in the UK and Europe
  • Policy and regulations: future of network charging and embedded benefits, contract lengths, etc.
  • Finance: debt, equity, asset finance and corporate capital: who are the players and what are they willing to lend/invest against?
  • Technology, innovation and integrated systems: the link between electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and energy storage

The NFU has four 2-day tickets to give away (first come, first served! - contact am9uYXRoYW4uc2N1cmxvY2tAbmZ1Lm9yZy51aw==) and has also negotiated a 50% discount for NFU members on the regular conference delegate rates. Other farmers and landowners can also apply for a 15% discount, using the code NFU15
