Children on farms - new guidance.

The HSE has released revised guidance on keeping children safe on farms.

It provides advice on reducing the risk of injury to youngsters under 13 and older children below minimum school leaving age. It also identifies tasks and operations that are too hazardous for children and young people to do and includes examples of real life incidents.

The updated information is particularly timely, with many farms are gearing up for the harvest, and children who are old enough and capable enough helping out.

You can download a copy for free here.

The NFU also produces a ‘Focus on Children on Farm’ leaflet, available from the Farm Safety Partnership section of the website here.
