The Chartered Institute of Taxation has launched a confidential online survey to find out how employers and agents are finding a new obligation to report PAYE information ‘on or before’ staff paydays.
The CIT investigation follows hot on the heels of a similar exercise by HMRC, which was criticised by some members for failing to provide enough space for commenting.
Find out more about this new survey, on an issue which has prompted many NFU members to contact us, here.
It's presented in a format which allows accountants, tax advisers and employers to explain in more detail the reasons for any reporting problems and make suggestions about how to resolve them.
A combination of HMRC and CIT findings could be used to press for changes to the system.
