The NFU lobbies in Westminster and Brussels to promote its members’ interests on a variety of transport issues, including tractor and trailer weights, speeds and licensing, red diesel, driver CPC and haulage regulation.
We also work hard to promote safety on rural roads, particularly at peak use times such as harvest and during winter weather.
EU type approval are rules to ensure vehicles on the market conform to a minimum set of tech standards. Previous rules covered tractors with a design speed up to 25 mp/h. New regulation extends the requirement to tractors with speeds over 25 mph.
