All you need to do is familiarise yourself with the new labels so you can choose the right fuel every time.
On the new labels, you will see a circular symbol saying E5 for petrol, or a square symbol saying B7 for diesel.
‘E’ stands for ethanol and E5 means the fuel contains up to 5% renewable ethanol. ‘B’ stands for biodiesel and B7 means the fuel contains up to 7% renewable biodiesel.
The fuels are exactly the same as before and are likely to still have labels saying petrol (or unleaded) and diesel.
You can find out more about the changes at https://knowyourfuel.campaign.gov.uk/.
