Bridlegate Trial - September 15

We are now seeking a group of members for the 22nd September to meet at Askham Bryan, York to partake in the trial. If members in the North East (and North West?) areas are concerned about the design standards for gates, and if they will be sufficient to manage livestock, on Public Rights of Way and are interested in taking part in the trial, email the National Adviser for Flood Risk and Access, Matt Jeffes at bWF0dC5qZWZmZXNAbmZ1Lm9yZy51aw==.

Following the trials a determination of the most suitable gates will be undertaken and the British Standard (BSI) will be re written. The BSI is the design and installation manual for gates on Rights of Way and will list the design standards that all new gates will need to meet.

The NFU will be on the committee to ensure member concerns are addressed and that the proposed gates are suitable for use in all situations.
