HS2 Hybrid Bill: The process and petitioning

Houses of Parliament

The HS2 Hybrid Bill was deposited to Parliament on 25 November 2013 – the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Bill.

When both Houses have agreed on the content of a Bill it is presented to the reigning UK monarch for approval, known as Royal Assent. Once Royal Assent is given a Bill becomes an Act of Parliament and is law.

Members can read our guide to the process and find our how you can petition against certain proposals here (you'll need to log in first).
