Energy company Equinor has closed the second round of its consultation, which put forward proposals to extend both the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon offshore wind farms, located off the Norfolk coast.

The Sheringham Shoal extension project is planned to have a generating capacity of up to 317MW, while the Dudgeon extension project is planned to have a capacity of up to 402MW. Electricity generated by the extension projects will be brought ashore via subsea cables, reaching the coastline at Weybourne. The cables will then travel underground, heading south towards a new onshore substation near to the existing National Grid Norwich Main Substation.

We have responded to the consultation on key issues including the route corridor, cable installation, cumulative impact, soils, drainage, electro-magnetic fields and heat dissipation.
