Crop rotation and integrated crop management are key techniques to help maintain soil quality and ensure healthy crops. Plant protection products are an important tool as well. They are used when there is no suitable alternative method to ensure crops survive and thrive. A significant amount of the work done by the NFU in this area revolves around plant protection products – their use, regulation, authorisation and problems associated with lack of availability.
