The research organisation wants to hear from all growers, ranging from those that experienced no crop damage at all due to flea beetle to those that had to write-off an entire crop. They would also like to hear from growers that have tried re-drilling.

The survey is presented in a new format that asks respondents to drop a number of coloured response pins onto a map and answer some brief questions. Growers can then re-visit the survey later to update responses if needs be or simply watch how the wider map evolves.

Dr Chris Hartfield, NFU Senior Regulatory Affairs Adviser, said:  “It’s hugely important to collect robust data about the impact of cabbage stem flea beetle when we do not have effective tools available to control it. So the NFU would strongly urge growers to complete surveys like this.”
