2 year fixed-term opportunity

Grade 5

Starting salary circa £37,092 per annum plus Brussels living allowance

Based at the British Agriculture Bureau (BAB), Brussels

This exciting role will see you at the heart of an unprecedented, unique time in the EU, interacting with policymakers who are shaping the future of the changing UK-EU relationship. Alongside these fundamental developments, everyday decisions made in Brussels remain as important and impactful to our membership as ever. As part of a small team, you will be an advocate for the tens of thousands of UK Farming Union members. You will represent and champion their views within Copa-Cogeca, to people within the EU institutions, UK government and other external organisations. Alongside this you will monitor, analyse, report on and assess EU developments and advise the UK Farming Unions on EU developments that will impact on our members.

The role will require a resilient, proactive and innovative individual, who can develop and carry out strategies to engage with EU and UK stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of negotiating and influencing others with diplomacy and tact, having used these skills to build alliances and consensus. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of national and EU agricultural issues, wider legislative processes and have an ability to quickly get to grips with often technical files.

You will need to relocate to Brussels and be willing to travel throughout the UK and the EU when necessary.
