Drivers hours: guide to driver’s hours limits
Drivers of most goods vehicles over 3.5t and passenger vehicles (over 9 seats) are covered by drivers’ hours regulations which limit the amount of a time a driver may spend behind the wheel.
Two sets of rules apply in the UK: EU rules and domestic (GB) rules. Even though the UK has left the European Union the EU drivers’ hours rules have been retained and continue to apply in the UK. Tachographs are required under EU rules to record drivers’ hours of work. If a vehicle is exempt under EU rules then written records may be required under GB domestic rules.
This Business Guide sets out the implications of the legislation for the agricultural industry.
