Meet your crops and sugar experts at Cereals - Day 2

Didn't make it on day one or coming back for a second visit? Don't forget to come and see the NFU and NFU Mutual on Stand 331.

Cereals 2019 will also see the return of the NFU Sugar Hour which crowns the factory winners of the BBRO Beet Yield Challenge.

Both the NFU Combinable Crops Board and NFU Sugar Board will be in attendance, giving members the opportunity to quiz and familiarise themselves with the farmers who represent their sector.

NFU members can also take advantage of tea, coffee, cake and lunch across the two days and meet staff from local NFU Mutual offices.

Elsewhere at the show, NFU President Minette Banners will appear on the keynote panel on day one entitled 'Preparing for change: What's on the Horizon?' which takes place at 10am in the AHDB theatre.

These theatre sessions that will address the short-term and potential long-term implications for UK farming and what the government and industry can do to safeguard the interests of UK agriculture.

Day 2 - Thursday 13 June

Welcome address:
Come to the stand to hear Tom Bradshaw, NFU Crops Board Chairman launch this year’s #YourHarvest campaign with information as to how you can get involved.

10.00am - 11.00amThe Future Policy Landscape: Join Stuart Roberts, NFU Vice-President, Richard Wordsworth, NFU Senior BPS Adviser and Claire Robinson, NFU Senior Countryside Adviser as they navigate future policy affecting farm businesses such as support payments, environmental and productivity schemes.

11.00am - 12noon
Future Sustainable Crop Protection:
NFU advisers will be available to discuss how farming is going to meet the crop protection challenges it faces, and what its aims and ambition for future sustainable crop protection could be.

12noon - 2.00pm
Enjoy lunch and meet the combinable crops team, board members, NFU officeholders and NFU Mutual advisers.

2.00pm - 2.45pm
The journey to Integrated Pest Management (IPM):
Emma Hamer, NFU Senior Plant Health Adviser will join this panel to discuss how much pressure the industry is under from regulation and public perception to reduce the use of conventional chemistry and will IPM be enough for farmers to demonstrate their environmental and socially responsible activity to a wider public audience. (Held in the Cereals AHDB Theatre)

2.00pm - 4.00pm
NFU advisers will be available to discuss how the NFU is working on your behalf on a range of issues.

3.00pm - 4.00pm
Join us for afternoon tea and cake.
