NFU tenant representatives talk Brexit with farming minister

NFU Deputy President Minette Batters, our Tenants' Forum chairman Chris Cardell and NFU staff met with the agriculture minister George Eustice last week.

Tenancy matters topped the agenda - with Brexit looming there is more pressure than ever to ensure a framework which preserves and strengthens the sector.

Mr Eustice understood this and the meeting had a very positive tone.

The key point arising was the minister’s willingness to recall the Tenancy Reform Industry Group, which is comprised of representatives across the industry and advises, comments and makes recommendations to government on measures that would assist the sector.

When reconvened, it is hoped that TRIG will take the opportunity to look in detail at the implications of Brexit for tenants.
