The NFU has responded to a consultation on HS2’s environmental statement for the West Midlands to Crewe stretch of the project.
The statement covers the likely environmental impacts of building and operating the line, along with the company’s proposals to manage and monitor them.
HS2 says the consultation aimed to get feedback from people who might be affected by the proposals and to inform the MPs who are considering the Bill in Parliament.
The NFU believes that the HS2 Phase 2a team has not done enough to avoid, reduce and remedy the significant adverse effects of the scheme on NFU members’ farm businesses.
