UK-EU: Opening positions on the future relationship

Feet by arrows in the union jack and EU flag

This week saw the European Commission publish its draft negotiating objectives for a new partnership with the United Kingdom. On the same day, Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave a speech at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich on the future of the UK-EU relations, broadly outlining what the UK government wants to achieve from the negotiations.

The NFU's EU exit and international trade team has produced a briefing summarising the two parties’ positions and outlining the NFU reaction to the government stance on regulatory alignment.
