Since 1 January 2021 the UK is no longer part of the EU or its single market. This means there are new rules and requirements for moving goods in and out of the country, and to Northern Ireland.
Throughout the Brexit process, the NFU has argued for free and as frictionless trade as possible with the EU. We continue to work on behalf of members to navigate the new requirements and to minimise disruption wherever possible.

Leaving the EU means the UK is free to strike trade deals with countries around the world. The NFU is working hard to ensure that opportunities to grow British exports abroad are realised and that the interests and standards of British farming are upheld.
