National Young Farmers’ Week is a celebration of YFC members and the contribution they make to the farming industry and the countryside, as well as in their own local communities. Each day of National Young Farmers’ Week will focus on a different theme that is integral to the clubs:

  • Monday: Friendship
  • Tuesday: Education and training
  • Wednesday: Networking opportunities
  • Thursday: Offers/discounts
  • Friday: Broaden your horizons
  • Saturday: Awards and achievements
  • Sunday: Life skills and opportunities

NFU President Meurig Raymond said “As a former member, I know that Young Farmers’ Clubs have a special place in the hearts across the farming industry and rural communities, and rightly so.

“YFCs offer a fun social life for rural young people, as well as providing them with a strong support network as they encounter the daily challenges of growing up in rural areas.

They also play a part in nurturing many of our next generation of farmers, offering a place to learn new skills and develop the confidence to succeed. It’s great to be supporting National Young Farmers’ Week.”

Future Farmers, which offers training schemes, partnerships and networking opportunities for young people, is one of many campaigns run by the NFYFC and aims to help shape their future in agriculture.
