The app will enable members to access important NFU updates quickly and easily, with the ability to customise content by farming sector, access content without an internet connection and have the option of being notified when important news and information is uploaded.
NFU President Minette Batters said: “Getting important information to our members quickly and effectively is getting ever more important, especially in the current political climate.
“With the majority of farmers using mobile phones to access news and information, indeed 42% of our own NFU online users access the site on their phones or tablets, the app provides an easy-access, tailored information service exclusively for NFU members.
“Building on the tremendous benefits and services already on offer to NFU members, the app will provide an extra tool to help farmers make informed business decisions over the coming months and years.”
