Following the election, Mr Hambly called for continuity as uncertainty around Brexit threatens the sector’s access to markets.

Mr Hambly said: “I am delighted to have been re-elected for a further term as the vice chairman of the Copa oilseeds and protein crops group and I am fully committed to influencing European policy around Brexit to safeguard our access EU markets and continue a free and frictionless relationship with our EU colleagues.

“I will be utilising expertise from our colleagues in Europe so that we can continue providing a high-delivery baseline while minimising our environmental impact. In a turbulent time for the sector, there will be many challenges but I am honoured to be working alongside Stephan Arens of DBV as second vice-chair and Pedro Gallardo of ASAJA as chair to tackle the issues that are members are facing.”
