Agrimetrics, a 'big data' centre of excellence for the agri-food value chain and one of the four UK Centres for Agricultural Innovation (‘Agri-Tech centres’), has developed Data Combine, a proof of concept benchmarking tool aimed at the arable sector in the first instance.
This web-based tool allows farmers to record different yields from different fields on one farm and to compare crop yields with those of other growers cultivating the same variety or varieties in similar growing conditions (soil and weather/environment) across the UK.
NFU members, especially those growing wheat, are invited to trial a free test version of Data Combine, and provide feedback on its usability and features.
