Appointed members will have the commitment, drive and enthusiasm to make a tangible contribution to the future of arable farming.

Applicants should be active combinable crop producers with a good understanding of the sector and strong communication skills.

Specifically appointees are sought with any or a combination of the following skills and interests: developing the arable sector for the next generation; business structures and collaboration; knowledge exchange, developing science into technology for production; precision farming and use of data; premium crop production;

What you need to know

 

Successful candidates are appointed for 2 years and will be expected to attend six meetings a year typically at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. Attendance at other supply chain, government or NFU meetings as a representative of the board from time to time will be required. In return you will receive an honorarium, paid monthly and reimbursement of reasonable expenses. The closing date for all applications is the 7th February 2014 and candidates may be invited to an interview with the selection panel.
