How is the NFU representing you to the food industry?

10 March 2021

The food chain team meets regularly with a range of retailers, processors, manufacturers and caterers to ensure that UK grocery supply chains are mutually beneficial, that UK produce is used where possible and that it is sourced in a fair and equitable manner.

March 2021 key changes and meetings:

  • The team met with several retailers to discuss a range of poultry-related topics including net zero, avian influenza and general business updates.
  • The team attended a dynamic food platform board meeting where a range of public procurement policy areas were discussed, specifically a dynamic purchasing system being piloted in the South West.
  • The team met with several retailers to discuss the team's new collaborative initiative.
  • Our foodservice and public procurement adviser met with the NHS to receive an update on the Hospital Food Review.
