The Eric Gardener Memorial Fund aims to improve British Horticulture mainly by promoting, encouraging and supporting education, research and experimental or development work.
In 1972 the horticultural industry subscribed to a fund in memory of Eric Gardener CBE who was for many years very involved with the National Farmer's Union, as Chairman of the Central Horticultural Committee and as a former Vice-President and Deputy President.
Th Fund has supported a wide range of projects. It has helped those attending conferences and studies both here and abroad.
It has given money for the promotion of horticulture as a career and even helped to encourage the consumption of fruit and vegetables.
Our last grant was to help a young person attend the International Plant Propagation Society Conference.
