We heard from a number of speakers on topics such as the impacts of climate change and different models to help predict the impacts of change, challenges and opportunities in the sector and assessing consumer needs and understanding the supply chain.
On day two we were introduced to Signpost to Sustainability a programme that has been created to help farmers understand the sustainability of different parts of their business. This has been split down into environmental integrity, animal health, good governance, economic resilience and social wellbeing. Your results are then displayed in a table with a green, grey or red box to identify positive, middle ground or poor results. In addition to this they have also created a tool box to help direct users to information to help them improve from the results page.
