Last chance for organic sector reform

European Commission, Brussels_13083

A new mandate from the member states means that a final trilogue between council, parliament and commission will take place this week on 28 June, just two days before Malta hands over the rotating presidency to Estonia. This last minute attempt at a deal will see the most contentious issues - pesticide residues and demarcated beds in greenhouses - left out and addressed at a later date. If no deal can be reached this week, the Estonian Presidency will have to decide whether to include the file in their list of agricultural priorities.
