The NFU is looking for a Chair of its Turkey Group for 2023 who will represent the sector and help shape the NFU's turkey marketing campaign.

We're seeking nominations for the position of NFU Turkey Group chair for 2023.

It is an opportunity to represent your sector and help shape the NFU's turkey marketing campaign and input into policy related to seasonal poultry. The deadline for nominations has been extended to 5pm on Monday 23 January 2023.

About the position

The NFU Turkey Group meet once a year, usually in the spring, to review the previous Christmas and discuss the forthcoming NFU turkey marketing campaign.

Applicants need to show that they are passionate about the seasonal turkey sector and motivated to ensure future policy is fit to allow farmers to remain resilient and progressive.

The role may also involve media interviews and opportunities for the successful member to be an advocate for the sector in public-facing communications (media training and support will be provided).

The NFU Turkey Group Chair may also be invited to attend relevant NFU national poultry board meetings to provide relevant insights on seasonal poultry.

Making an application

NFU members who would like to be considered for the position of NFU Turkey Group Chair are asked to seek support from four other NFU members and submit a nomination form to [email protected] by 5pm on Monday 23 January 2023.

NFU members will then be invited to a meeting of the NFU Turkey Group via MS Teams on 27 January 2023 where candidates who have met the nomination criteria will be given two minutes each to present to the group on why they should be elected as Chair.
