Our ringside marquee was a hive of activity throughout 18 and 19 June with a comprehensive itinerary of discussions and meetings on a range of hot topics.
We welcomed NFU Vice-president Rachel Hallos, who took time speaking to members on a variety of issues, meeting dignitaries and fronting a number of press interviews.
Busy schedule
Mrs Badenoch visited on the second day with Shadow Defra Secretary Victoria Atkins MP to discuss the family farm tax, with Shadow Defra Minister Robbie Moore MP speaking to staff and members on the first day.
Senior NFU staff were on-hand for members with expert advice and to take part in different discussions, including head of NFU Sugar James Northen, Senior Land Adviser Sam Durham, Head of External Affairs Olivia Phoenix, Senior Adviser Richard Wordsworth, Chief Livestock Adviser John Royle and Poultry Adviser Aimee Mahoney.
They held meetings with county chairs Henry Moreton and Simon Gadd alongside external stakeholders from Lincolnshire Police, PCC Marc Jones and NFU LAS panel firm solicitors Wilkin Chapman’s Andrew Holt and Tom Hickingbottom.
Visitors were kept refreshed by new catering partner Salted Orange, who provided a traditional, locally-sourced ploughman’s lunch for members.
Organisers Rhonda Thompson and Gabriella Gregory thanked everyone who visited and helped over the two days.
