Our @NFUPolitical Twitter feed covered an exchange which included confirmation that the deadline for applications will be moved to June 15 – and that farmers and growers who managed to access and use the online mapping functions successfully will not have to repeat the process on paper.
The NFU is urging members to work with a May 15 deadline in mind until our questions and concerns have been addressed.
We will attend an RPA stakeholder meeting tomorrow along with Defra, Natural England and other bodies representing farmers and landowners. The NFU will maximise the opportunity to put our members' concerns and questions to senior officials.
