Next steps for UK agricultural technologies

Planned areas of discussion include the impact of the agri-tech catalyst projects with funding and research priorities for the catalysts moving into the third phase of the fund, and the role of Centres for Agricultural Innovation which are due to be introduced with the aim of supporting advances in sustainable intensification.

The NFU's Chief Land Management Adviser, Sam Durham, will be speaking on how to use data to move forward agricultural research.

Further sessions will discuss how best to promote UK agri-tech abroad; what more can be done to attract, develop and retain highly skilled workers; and wider Government priorities for the sector as the UK Agricultural Technologies Strategy as it moves into its third year of implementation.

The guests of honour are Dr Stephen Axford, Head of Agri-Tech, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Judith Batchelar, Industry Co-chair, Agri-Tech Leadership Council and Director of Sainsbury's Brand, Sainsbury's Supermarkets.
