Aspiring dairy producers from across the industry have completed a training programme put together by RABDF along with the NFU, AHDB Dairy and The Andersons Centre.

‘Entrepreneurs in Dairying’ follows the success of the past two courses which started in 2014 and have included staff management and communication skills, business plans, contracts and price management and challenges and opportunities.

Over the past 12 months training sessions have taken place at Bridgwater College, Cannington, Somerset; Coleg Sir Gar, Gelli Aur, Carmarthenshire, Newton Rigg College, Penrith, Cumbria and Reaseheath College, Nantwich, Cheshire.

The final session was held at the NFU’s HQ, Stoneleigh, where the young producers heard from NFU dairy board chairman Michael Oakes and NFU tenants forum chairman Chris Cardell about the future of dairy tenancies, loan schemes and new entrants, succession and county farms.
