Milk First announced that they will be delaying their payments by two weeks due to cash flow problems. They take milk from 15 per cent of all UK dairy farmers.
Meurig Raymond started by saying: “This announcement is another blow to the dairy industry. It’s the most expensive time of year for producing milk. We’re in the middle of winter, feed is expensive and bills have to be paid on farm, so that extra two weeks will cause big problems and it’s extremely worrying.”
