English apple consumption focus of £250k campaign

Apples

There’s an English apple for everyone

The objectives of this campaign are to increase the demand for English dessert apples and also to increase the overall consumption of eating apples.

Funded entirely by English growers, their 7 month campaign will include a 30-second radio advert (which will be broadcast from 12th January on Heart FM in England and Wales for one week); a series of full page adverts in a range of key food and lifestyle magazines (Bella, Take a Break, That’s Life, Eat In, Best, Reveal, Good Food Magazine, Delicious, and Olive); and continued online advertising until the end of March and social media activity until the end of July.

English Apples is an organisation of apple growers that work together to make sure the shops are full of the very best quality English-grown varieties by promoting the world-renowned standards of English apples.

English apple quality is arguably so celebrated thanks to England’s favourable apple-growing climate: we have a long growing season, ample rainfall and moderate temperatures. The best apples grow and ripen slowly, producing maximum juiciness and staying crunchy.

Their website includes a range of features, including a quiz designed to identify your perfect English dessert apple, interactive maps depicting which apples are grown in which English regions, and recipes that capture the range of dishes you can make with delicious English dessert apples.
