The RPA has published a useful guide on why it's so important to keep your details up to date on the Rural Payments service, and how to do so: Gov.uk | Updating your details and permissions in the Rural Payments service
Contact details
The RPA uses the data contained in the Rural Payments service to get information out to farmers quickly. A recent mass emailing by the RPA on the announcement of advance BPS payments resulted in a number of emails not being received due to an incorrect email address being held on the service, or no email at all.
Permissions
It is also important to check that the permissions of who can access your business details on the service are still up to date.
RPA guide – what's covered
The guide covers the following:
- Permissions – you can add people who you wish to allow to access your business details on the Rural Payments service and allocate them ‘permissions’, which will allow them to make certain actions on behalf of your business. The guide explains the difference between business and scheme permissions.
- Contact details – the guide explains how to check that your postal address, email address and phone number are correct.
- Emailing the RPA – the guide covers the best way to email the RPA, ensuring you use the relevant title in the subject header of your email.
