Tenant farmers 'Call for Evidence' North member meetings

18 – 19 December 2023

A map of England and Wales highlighting the North region

Following the issues identified in the Rock Review, Defra have released a Call for Evidence from tenant farmers. The NFU will be holding a series of meetings to go through this consultation with tenant farmer members to gather feedback to submit an effective response.

NFU Senior Rural Surveyor Louise Staples will lead the conversation at the meetings.

Defra will be looking for evidence of the following:

• The extent and nature of poor practice of all parties within the tenanted sector
• Do existing complaint and dispute mechanisms effectively deal with these practices?
• Is there a role for a Tenant Farmer Commissioner to oversee the sector?
