The NFU North region covers over 2.5 million hectares and is the largest farmed area of all the NFU regions.

The North is rich in agricultural diversity. Almost half of all holdings specialise in grazing livestock, and the region boasts over a third of England’s dairy farms. Farmers across the north also produce crops and cereals, poultry and horticulture.

Our region is home to 25% of England’s agricultural labour force, and together, the North West, North East and Yorkshire and Humber contribute £6.8 billion to the economy.
