This Business guide has been prepared to provide a guide to boundaries. A boundary is a line used to divide parcels of land showing the extent of an occupier's freehold or leasehold property. Parcels of land in separate ownership may be divided horizontally, vertically or in any other way.
Legal boundaries may or may not be physically marked. They can be natural features such as rivers, or man-made such as hedges or fences; in some cases they may be nothing more than a line on a map.
