Why attend?
This is a great opportunity for members to discuss ongoing rural issues with the Police & Crime Commissioners office, following on from a meeting last autumn on the impact of hare coursing on the farming community.
What will be covered?
In May, the Deputy PCC reported back to us the steps that had been taken to tackle this behaviour. This included:
- additional training for call handlers on how to triage and escalate wildlife crimes as they are reported
- a new off-road vehicle for front line officers
- high-tech cameras to help collect evidence of criminal behaviour
With incidents of hare coursing and poaching on the rise, join us to feed back to the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner and the West Mercia Police rural crime team if and how these resources have made a difference and your experience of this criminal behaviour.
We will also have the opportunity to discuss the sharp increase in quad bikes thefts.
Community insight is incredibly valuable to the police, so come and meet the team and help to make it harder for the criminals to operate.
